Kids, Comfort & Leggings
I am now 47 years old. My kids are 12 and 15 so I am long past the baby/toddler years. Do I miss them? Yes, yes I do. They couldn’t talk then so they couldn’t talk back and that right there is worth its weight in gold!
When I was pregnant and nursing my kids, maternity wear was really quite hideous. I personally hated it and longed for something stylish and comfortable. After giving birth, both times, I returned to trying to wear jeans, but my regular jeans were still too small and my maternity jeans too big so I resorted to the jean overalls. Ugh, but just like Goldilocks the overalls fit “just right” but I felt like a beached whale. Never mind the fact that when I had to nurse I felt like I might just as well strip naked! Leggings had mysteriously gone on a hiatus during this time period so I was stuck in looking like Tweedle Dee or Dum in overalls or being extremely uncomfortable in jeans! The worst part about jeans was when getting down for tummy time with my littles the leggings dug into my post-birth stomach which was most uncomfortable and made me feel like I had the world’s biggest muffin top!
I then moved on to track pants. Comfy, cozy and warm, but nothing quite says “I give up” like a saggy ass pair of track pants.
If only I had the option of leggings back then. Especially with the exclusive SGL yoga waistband. O m Gee, the comfort I would have had! Not to mention I could have pulled off some form of style and looked put together unlike the “crazed new mom” look I had going on.
For all you moms out there, give leggings a try, you deserve it!
This is me, don’t be like me, wear leggings (and Don’t cut your hair like that either!)
